Visa

Most participants, especially from Southeast Asian countries, can enter Indonesia visa-free for short stays. Visitors from other regions may require a Visa on Arrival (VoA) or an e-Visa, depending on their nationality. The VoA is available for many countries and can be obtained upon arrival at Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). The VoA can also be applied before from https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/ (please choose B1 (VoA) visa, fee: IDR 500,000).

Accomodation 

Participants can stay at the UGM University Club Hotel, which is conveniently located on campus. The hotel offers comfortable rooms, modern amenities, and easy access to the workshop venue. Please note that room capacity is limited. If you have confirmed your travel, we recommend booking your hotel as soon as possible. Some rooms can be shared by two people.

Another accommodation option within the UGM campus area is Wisma Kagama (https://www.wismakagama.com/main.php).

Both University Club (UC) UGM and Wisma Kagama require a walk of approximately 700 meters to the venue of the workshop.

For those seeking other options, Yogyakarta has a range of accommodations, from budget-friendly guesthouses to international hotels, all within a short distance of UGM. You will find nice hotels with reasonable prices from the link below. Please note that the University Club Hotel cannot be reserved from here.

Access from YIA to UGM

Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) is the main gateway to the city, connecting to major international and domestic destinations. The airport is located approximately 45 km from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), with several transportation options available:

Airport Train + Taxi (Recommended)

  • Take the KAI Airport Train from YIA to Tugu Yogyakarta Station (City Center).
    • Estimated fare: IDR 20,000–60,000 (~40 minutes).
    • Train schedule: https://www.railink.co.id/schedule (Select Yogyakarta, not Medan)
    • Tickets can be reserved up to one week in advance on the website above.
  • From Tugu Yogyakarta Station, take a taxi to UGM (~10–15 minutes).
  • Total travel time: ~1 hour.

We will assist international participants at the airport and train station.

 

Airport Shuttle Bus (DAMRI) + Taxi 

  • Take the DAMRI bus from YIA to Jombor Bus Terminal (~1.5 hours).
  • From Jombor, take a taxi or ride-hailing service to UGM (~10 minutes).
  • Total travel time: ~1.5–2 hours.

Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service (Grab/Gojek/Blue Bird Taxi)

  • Direct service from YIA to UGM.
  • Estimated fare: IDR 250,000–350,000.
  • Travel time: ~1–1.5 hours, depending on traffic.
